Rivansh’s Little Creative Moments

Hi, I’m Swati, Rivansh’s mom. Recently, he participated in the Little Creators Challenge. Honestly, we didn’t approach it as a challenge at all. It was a busy time for our family—my mother-in-law had surgery, and with online classes running due to the air quality here in Delhi-NCR, our days were quite full.

During this time, I wanted to make sure Rivansh had something to do in his free moments. Painting and drawing are a normal part of our daily routine, so he naturally picked up his paper, pens, and colors and started creating on his own. I didn’t have to encourage or push him—he was genuinely happy, and it was wonderful to see him express himself freely.

For us, it wasn’t about completing a challenge or producing perfect artwork. It was about giving him the space to enjoy his creativity, to explore his imagination, and to spend time engaged in something joyful, even when life around us was busy and a little overwhelming.

Rivansh turned five recently, and this period reminded me how much he observes and absorbs from his surroundings. Children notice everything, and sometimes, they need a little freedom to process and express their experiences. Art has always been that safe, happy space for him—a daily ritual where he can explore colors, shapes, and ideas at his own pace.

As a parent, it’s heartwarming to see him enjoy these little creative moments, not as a task but as a natural expression of who he is. This experience reminded me that sometimes, the best creativity comes when children are given the freedom to explore and create, without pressure or expectation.
